Long-Term Care Ombudsman
Long-Term Care Ombudsman representatives assist residents in long-term care facilities with issues related to day-to-day care, health, safety, and personal preferences. Problems can include, but are not limited to: Violation of residents' rights or dignity. Physical, verbal, mental, or financial abuse.
Ombudsman are state certified individuals who resolve the problems of residents of nursing homes and residential care facilities for the elderly.
Ombudsman are a vital component of long term care services. They provide a voice for vulnerable residents who may feel overwhelmed, fearful or ashamed to communicate problems of abuse and neglect, be it physical, sexual, emotional, verbal or financial.
