NATIONAL SENIOR CITIZEN'S DAY
Do you have an elderly person in your life that you love and appreciate? National Senior Citizens Day, August 21, is the day to let them know how much you care and it’s an opportunity to recognize their accomplishments. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed this holiday to raise awareness about issues that affect senior citizens and their quality of life.
Today, seniors are still active in their communities as well as continuing to have a strong presence in the workforce. For all they do and have achieved for the good of their communities, senior citizens deserve our thanks!

The City of El Centro will be hosting this years event in collaboration with the Area Agency on Aging and other organizations. We invite residents for a trip around the world to come and embark on an exciting global journey to celebrate National Senior Citizens Day. This event will take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Pavilion, located at 770 Park Avenue in El Centro. We will have Free meals and Free transportation to and from the event for all seniors over the age of 60. For transportation reservations you can call 442-265-7032 or 760-332-5055.
